Hands Free
Peer Support Networks give opportunities for youth to connect with peers facing similar circumstances. Peer support networks can provide a sense of belonging and break the barriers tied to foster care.
Housing Cooperative
At Bethesda House, partnering with fellow transitional housing organizations and social service providers can leverage shared resources and expertise to amplify our collective impact.
Counseling
Youth face unique challenges as they navigate the transition to adulthood. Many youths in foster care have experienced multiple placements, caseworkers, and mental health providers. Instability is common. Bethesda House strives to build a strong and consistent relationship by being present for the long haul. Connecting youth with supportive adults such as mentors, teachers or community members foster connections that extend beyond counseling sessions. Remember, these young individuals deserve compassion, understanding and tailored support as they transition into adulthood.
Education
Bethesda assist youth in accessing educational opportunities such as scholarships, vocational training, or college prep programs. Help them develop career goals, create resumes, and prepare for job interviews. Additionally, support them in GED readiness, if needed, and finding stable employment or internships. Providing youth with tutoring educational resources and GED preparation helps individuals improve academic performance and achieve their educational goals.
Housing
At Bethesda House, we establish a comprehensive transitional housing organization devoted to aiding foster youth as they transition into independent adulthood. Our goal is to provide secure and stable housing, complemented by a range of tailored supportive services to meet the distinct needs of this vulnerable demographic. Youth enrolled in our program can stay at Bethesda House for up to 24 months. Once this period ends, they will receive assistance in finding safe and affordable housing.
Mentorship
Bethesda House pair youth with caring adult mentors who can provide guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate the challenges of adulthood. Mentors can offer practical advice, emotional support, and access to networks and resources.
